Birmingham MP Roger Godsiff Opposes Trident Renewal

It has been pointed out (Thanks Ulla) that another MP on our patch, Roger Godsiff,  MP for Sparkbrook and Small Heath, Birmingham, has been opposing Trident renewal.  He still is.  This is what Roger chose to emphasise in his New Year’s message to his constituents:

The text says

‘Roger has consistently opposed the replacement of the Trident missile system and has put down a number of parliamentary motions to this effect.  Says Roger: at a time when all budgets are under pressure I can see no justification in spending upward of 20 billion on the replacement of the Trident missile system …’

Yes, we believe him: we checked this out:

Roger\’s Voting Record on Trident Replacement

and he led opposition in May 09 with a House of Commons motion also signed by Birmingham MP’s John Hemming, Lynne Jones and Richard Burden.

Birmingham Post Report: Roger leads Commons Motion against Trident

We recently noted the support of John Hemming on this issue, on this blog  It is encouraging to find out that local Birmingham MP’s agree with us.  Now … where is Steve McCabe, MP for Hall Green???  Is Mr McCabe still for high spending on this heap of toxic junk whilst Birmingham suffers savage spending cuts?
